PCCW Global took home two Global Carrier Awards at Capacity Europe 2015. It received Best North American Project for its work in delivering HD and SuperHD 8-K video feeds around the world and Best Voice Service Innovation for its regional breakout service in Africa. Overall the awards recognise PCCW Global’s leadership in IPX, network security, mobile solutions and wholesale services.

The Global Carrier Awards, organised by Capacity Media, celebrate innovation, excellence and vision in the wholesale telecoms market. The awards entries are scored independently by a panel of judges, comprising Capacity’s senior editorial team, leading analysts and market watchers. The judging panel was carefully selected to cover a wide range of market areas and regions.

PCCW Global also won the Best Cost Efficiency Solution Award at the 8th annual AfricaCom Awards held in Cape Town, South Africa on November 18. PCCW Global was recognized for its work in deploying a meshed network topology and optimising voice routing to keep African roaming traffic in Africa.

At PCCW Global, we constantly seek to upgrade our Ethernet Service standards and our ability to support the very latest cloud, voice, data and video applications and this was recognized at the MEF Excellence Awards which took place in Dallas, USA on November 17, where PCCW Global was awarded with the Best Wholesale Service Provider of the Year – Global.

At the World Communications Awards, PCCW Global won the Innovation Award: Operator in London on December 1. The award recognised PCCW Global’s the highly innovative approach to network security as epitomised by its global Threat Management Service. PCCW Global uses Big Data and machine learning to protect network infrastructure worldwide. The Threat Management Service is a cloud-based network security solution for enterprises, which is able to predict, discover and identify network security threats, thereby facilitating early detection which in turn leads to rapid threat response and mitigation. The Threat Management Service is capable of identifying more than a million network security threats a day and giving enterprises real-time insights which support threat mitigation.

At the Telecom Review Excellence Awards, PCCW Global won Best Asian Wholesale Operator, Best African Wholesale Operator and Best Submarine Cable Operator.

Telecom Review continued its dedication and commitment to the ICT industry, and exceeded all attendance expectations this year, holding the best and largest gathering of high level ICT executives from around the world.
